Personal Profile

Dr. Yang Chen is tenure trackinvestigatorand doctoral supervisor of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, School of Basic Medicine, Peking UniversityHealth Science Center.

Dr. Chen has long focused on organelle biogenesis, especially new cellular structures mediating cell-cell communications. She is also in charge of Mass spectrometry core facility. Dr. Chen Yang has received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (2018, 2019, 2023, 2025), and Ministry of Science and Technology (2018, 2023, 2024).She is the Secretary of Chinese society for Organelle Biology, and also a member of the Women Scientists Committee, Chinese Society for Cell Biology.

Research of Focus

Dr. Yang Chen worked on migrasomes, a new migration dependent cellular structure delivering multiple signaling cargoes. She has conducted systematic investigations into migrasome biogenesis and cargo sorting mechanisms. She has also developed a novel deep plasma extracellular vesicle proteomics technology to meet the urgent demands of clinical translation.Her research has been published in PNAS, Nano Letters, Journal of Cell Biology, Science Bulletin, Cell Research, Nature Communications, Cell discovery etc.
