Research Direction
Bioinformatics Researches on RNA Regulations
Personal profile
Dr. Zhou received his bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Capital Normal University in 2010 and completed his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics at China Agricultural University in 2015. Following his Ph.D., he conducted postdoctoral research training at School of Basic Medical Sciences, Peking University (2015–2017), after which he joined the faculty.
His research focuses on Bioinformatics Researches on RNA Regulations, with expertise in the development and applications of bioinformatics methods for single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, RNA modifications and non-coding RNA analyses. He has established bioinformatics databases including HMDD v3.0 and TransmiR v2.0, which rank among the top 10% globally in the Database Commons biological database impact ranking. He has established a series of bioinformatics tools such as SRAMP, TAM2.0, GE-Impute, DNI-MDCAP and Celloc, which have been used over 400,000 times collectively. Dr. Zhou has applied these tools to investigate biomedical challenges, including epigenetic regulation of stem cells, miRNA sex-biased expression, metformin’s mechanisms and risks, and immune cell infiltration mechanisms in diseases.
