   报告摘要:

The cells now known as “plasmacytoid dendritic cells”(pDC) were first described by us and others as low-frequency cells in peripheral blood capable of producing large quantities of type I interferon (IFN). pDC, though representing only 0.2-0.5% of peripheral blood mononuclear cells, are very powerful cells, producing 100-times more type I IFN as other cell types and are also potent producers of and responders to, type III IFN (IFN-l), TNF-a and IL-6. These important cells effectively link innate and adaptive immunity, and it is vital that their activity is carefully controlled in the host. In this presentation, data showing mechanisms and consequences of viral antigen acquisition and signaling by pDC will be presented, as will data on how pDC are dysregulated in the context of HIV infection and aging.
