  He is  a top hormones researcher,  and his team is carrying out laboratory research to create next- generation pharmaceuticals and medical technologies at a world-class center to be established by the University of Houston and The Methodist Hospital. Ph.D in Dept of Chemistry, Karolinska Institutet, in 1968 and M.D., Karolinska Institutet, 1971.He is a member of the Swedish Academy of Sciences since 1997, and of the Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences since1998. He is a  Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2000, and of the the US National Academy of Sciences since 2002.He is the Chairman of the Nobel Assembly of the Karolinska Institutet, 2002 . He is a Member, currently and/or previously, of the editorial board or similar position in Steroids, The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Molecular Endocrinology, Breast Cancer Research and Treatment, The Prostate, Anticancer Research, Japanese Journal of Cancer Research, Journal of Molecular Medicine, Molecular Pharmacology, Cell Metabolism, Experimental Biology and Medicine and the International Journal of Oncology. Has participated in the supervision of 100 Ph.D. students to the presentation of their thesis.Has supervised 130 postdocs/visiting scientists. Has 1319 peer-reviewed publications including Cell, Nature, PNAS ,JCI et al.       Has so far been cited 67 860 time.
